Truly a waste of our time!

点评：Watch the informative film in the Visitors’ Center, which includes some visuals of the house’s interior, but we totally wasted our time on the group bus tour.
We were driven by the house and saw lots of fencing and brush, watering holes, the old thoroughbred facilities, a few quarter horses, wild javelina and birds.
Within several fenced pastures we also saw groups of cattle —- many with their calves. Danny repeatedly honked at them! Not the behavior of a professional tour guide.
The bus engine had difficulty staying on at the start, and a few minutes later the A/C went out. We got out at the “weaver’s cottage” for a break. When we re-boarded, “Marge in Charge” stood behind our seats in the first row and placed her hands down the backs. She told us to trade seats and go to the back of the bus because some woman had asthma and she had to sit there. The bus had no A/C and the heat was worse in the front because of all the glass, but who am I to argue with “Marge?!”
The King family is clearly proud of their accomplishments, commercial success and stewardship. However, they need to invest this expertise in developing an engaging tour with well trained and knowledgeable guides, and maintain fully operational tour vehicles, or just not conduct group tours at all!
