Massive Marina
Puerto Marina Benalmadena的点评
点评：When I first visited the Benalmadena Marine some twenty-five years ago, there wasn’t much there. There was the marina of course, several slips full of pleasure and charter boats protected by a breakwater. There was also a few buildings, apartments and some stores and cafes. I do recall a coin laundry which I used as my hotel didn’t have one and a small super marker where I bought some snacks while my clothes were being washed.
What a difference I noticed on this recent trip. The Marina, or more correctly Puerto Marina Benalmadena is a massive built-up area that is an attraction all in it’s own right. The marina itself is still there and in addition to the privately owned boats there are numerous charter and rental companies offering vessels of varying sizes and price ranges offering fishing or dolphin spotting trips. There is even a regular ferry service to Fuengirola down the coast, as an alternate to the bus or train service.
Surrounding all of this is a massive built-up area of apartments, many of which I presume are available as short-term rentals. There is also shopping and entertainment complex. There are literally hundreds of shops and stores selling everything from cheap souvenirs to high end clothing and jewellery. There is even an enclosed mall with a grocery store.
Interspaced in all this are hundreds of pubs, cafes, bars, restaurants and nightclubs of every description. There is a children’s amusement park with rides and even a massive Ferris wheel, the Noria - Mirador Princess towering over everything and providing spectacular views of Benalmadena and Torremolinos. Puerto Marina Benalmadena is not just another attraction on this part of the Costa del Sol, but a destination in and of itself and one could easily spend a week or more here without wanting for anything or even being able to see it all.
