Kalbarri Pelican Feeding的点评
点评：Visiting the west coast of Australia, the drive to and from Perth is a must, and alongside Kalbarri National Park, one of the highlights is the morning pelican feeding sessions. These are run by local volunteers who provide an informative and engaging commentary on the habits of these remarkable birds, which fly in voluntarily to be fed each day.
The feeding area is just a stone’s throw from the beach, and on cue, around three to six pelicans arrive and waddle up for their daily treats. The volunteers are careful to explain how the feeding is managed to ensure it does not interfere with the birds’ natural feeding behaviour or create dependence on handouts.
Visitors are also encouraged to interact by assisting with feeding, and the pelicans, in turn, are calm and well accustomed to people. Overall, it is a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Kalbarri itself is a wonderful, up-and-coming town that has grown significantly since my last visit 20 years ago.
