SOOO worth the drive from Fairbanks!

点评：This was SUCH an incredible experience! Bill’s kennel is about 50 minutes to an hour outside of Fairbanks, and as Texans, we were a little nervous about the snowy drive. Bill was very responsive to our questions over email and reassured us that the roads were well maintained, and he was right! The drive from Fairbanks was breathtaking and completely worth it.
The kennel is located at Bill and his family’s home, which made the whole experience feel even more special. His wife and son were both involved, with his son actually guiding our sled. He was such a delight and a great conversationalist! Bill and his wife were also absolute gems. It was so fun to watch (and semi-help- we were not the best haha) as they went through the routine of getting the dogs ready. We were introduced to each of the dogs and got to learn their personalities and backstories. The family knows these dogs so well — you can tell how much they love what they do and how much the dogs mean to them. These were the happiest dogs we had ever seen!
Bill also shared some of his incredible history as a musher and showed us his awards, which made the experience even more meaningful. The ride itself took us through open land and beautiful forest. It was dreamy and surreal. We ended our visit cuddling baby puppies and sipping hot chocolate!
We can’t say enough good things about Bill, his family, and this whole experience. We felt so welcomed and cared for, and they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and having a great time. Thank you, Bill, your wife, and your son for such a memorable experience — it was truly the highlight of our trip!
