2-Day Tour of Khustai and Terelj National Parks in Mongolia

点评：I booked a private 2-day tour through DiscoverMongolia, coordinated by Shinee, and had an incredible experience from start to finish. Shinee was extremely responsive, organized, and helpful throughout the planning process, making everything smooth and easy.
My guide, Odka, was absolutely amazing: warm, insightful, and incredibly accommodating. She made me feel comfortable right away and was a wealth of knowledge about culture, history, nature, and nomadic traditions. I felt like I could ask her anything, and she always had thoughtful answers and explanations.
The first stop, Khustai National Park, was by far the highlight of the trip. I did a two-hour horseback ride and it genuinely felt like I had the entire park to myself, with breathtaking landscapes all around. We also saw multiple groups of wild horses, some of the last in the world. Interestingly, when we later drove through the park on the designated road, spotting horses became much more difficult, so I highly recommend horseback riding here. I spent the night at a ger camp and was lucky enough to upgrade to a luxury ger.
The next morning, we visited a nomadic family that Odka knew personally, and only because she was invited. She explained the etiquette and customs beforehand, and seeing nomadic life up close was truly eye-opening and unlike anything I had experienced before.
We continued to Terelj National Park, which is beautiful as well, although noticeably busier than Khustai. I rode a horse there too, but the Khustai experience was far better. We ended with a visit to the Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue, which was impressive and definitely worth seeing in person.
Overall, I could not recommend this experience enough. Mongolia exceeded my expectations, and having such a knowledgeable and friendly guide like Odka made all the difference. I would gladly book with DiscoverMongolia again.
