Lake Murray State Park的点评
点评：First off, a HUGE thank you goes to the Oklahoma State Parks System for allowing dogs in cabins and being so pet friendly in many of the campground areas and some of the park attractions. Our home state does not allow that, so we LOVE this perk.
The park itself is beautiful and brought back delightful memories of my visits there as a child. The scenery is top notch. We stayed in a cabin and while it's likely gone through numerous renovations and upgrades (i.e. bathroom amenities and a/c unit), it was showing wear and tear in a few areas. For example, the doors were a little sticky and we really had to pull to make them close properly. A new coat of paint would be good all over but that's a minor complaint.
The cabin bathroom's shower was awesome. SUPER hot water and a good amount of pressure were surprises we were glad to have. The kitchen was small but had everything we needed. (Make sure you read your booking carefully as you have to provide your own cooking utensils and pans, etc.)
Unfortunately, with a few exceptions, the staff seemed pretty disinterested in us being there. They gave a vibe of not wanting to be bothered by us and kind of ignored us until we actually asked for help in the offices. Would have been nice to be greeted.
The exceptions were the maintenance and housekeeping crew, who seemed to work around the clock and drove through the camp in golf carts. They always smiled and waved. Also, the lady who worked the lodge front desk (where you check in and out) on Sunday morning was great. Her name started with "P" but I couldn't see her full nametag. She went the extra mile offering information and was quite warm and friendly.
Overall, this was a great experience, and we have already talked about going back.
P.S. DO NOT miss Tucker Tower and the Nature Center. Dogs are welcome there, too, if leashed and on good behavior.
