Red Harvester Ants
Salt Plains State Park的点评
点评：We booked a beautiful tent-camping site at the Sandy Beach West campground. We arrived and discovered hundreds of Red Harvester Ant Hills. There were so many ants that they'd worn ant paths through the grass. We had our dog with us and a tent that sits on ground, so it was impossible to stay here. It was just before 4pm, and no one answered the phone in the office. We looked up other available sites at all the campgrounds online and drove around looking at them. There were one or two sites that weren't as bad, but the campground is overrun with these biting ants. We had to bail to a hotel in Enid.
Sadly, when I contacted the park staff about this issue, no one ever responded to me. I wouldn't stay here, even if it was in an RV.
Before we drove to Enid, we went over to the salt flats to dig for crystals. Others might find this to be great fun, but we were underwhelmed.
