Museum of Ceramics的点评
点评：This museum was a stop on a friends’ day adventure from Pittsburgh, coupled with a tour of the Homer Laughlin factory, and Fiesta outlet shopping across the river in Newell, WV.
So glad we visited the museum first as it really gave historical framework for the later factory tour. The building itself is a historic old post office, and beautiful inside.
Blake, the gracious and hospitable staff member, recommended we start with the movie first and so glad we did. It was very well done and the perfect background we needed to thoroughly appreciate the displays throughout the museum. We had no idea there was so much pottery made in the area years ago.
The museum is well organized, with beautiful well-marked displays. We had a professional potter in our group and she was very impressed! Even if you’re not interested in pottery, the history of the pottery industry is fascinating and the museum as well worth the admission.
Be sure and allow yourself enough time to shop the unique jewelry made from shards, as well as other gift shop items. We are already talking about going back.
