点评：In Venice not only well-known tourist attractions are worth seeing. There are many others that are worth the visitor's time and attention. One such example is Labirinto Borges. I admit, it's not my merit to have found out about it, but once I found out, I did what it was up to me to get there.
The labyrinth is located on the small island of San Giorgio Maggiore. Of course, you can get here with the famous vaporetto. To visit the place, you need to make a reservation for the guided tour in advance. One thing I want to mention: on the day of the visit, we arrived at our destination with a slight delay due to a mess related to some wrong advices regarding the vaporetto that arrives there. I was called by the guide, I was going to find out that she was a young lady who was doing volunteer work, I said that I didn't give up the tour, only that I was late, unfortunately. I was kindly awaited and could see the beautiful and interesting labyrinth.
On the small island there are several buildings that house institutions, or tourist attractions of interest. One such place is the Giorgio Cini Foundation, a foundation that provided the space for the labyrinth.
The labyrinth was made in 2011 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the death of the famous Argentine novelist Jorge Luis Borges.
The labyrinth is made of 3250 plants, carefully and neatly trimmed to the chest level of a medium-sized man. The route measures 1 km long and it is said that it was not created to get lost in it, but to find the dimension of pure beauty.
The labyrinth garden was created in Venice because it was one of Borges' favorite cities – in fact, the city itself is a real labyrinth.
In the end, I will say that it was a very pleasant experience and I was happy to be able to walk that kilometer through the Labirinto Borges.
