点评：We booked this excursion online before our holiday and found the whole process very straightforward, with great communication throughout. We were picked up on the main road close to our hotel, handed over our passports, and chose our seats on the top deck.
Haley and John were amazing hosts for the entire day — friendly, knowledgeable, and well-organised. Our passports were processed quickly at the crossing point (these are returned on the return journey).
Our first stop was Famagusta, where Haley provided a brief history of the town as we drove around before being given two hours of free time to explore independently, with a helpful map provided. There were plenty of bars, restaurants, and shops to enjoy while soaking up the atmosphere.
Next, we took a short 10-minute drive to Palm Beach for a view of Varosha, the deserted holiday resort. This was the only slight disappointment, as we had thought we’d get to see more of it, but access is limited to viewing from the perimeter fence. This was entirely our own misunderstanding, but worth mentioning to avoid any confusion. We’ll definitely do the Varosha Experience next time.
That said, it was still absolutely worth visiting — seeing the deserted resort and hearing the history behind it was fascinating, and the sea and beach were simply stunning.
A really enjoyable and well-organised day out — highly recommended!
