Fabulous off the beaten track trip

点评：I did the totally excellent 15 day Cape York trip in June - July. What a fabulous way to see an amazing wilderness region of Australia. It was my second trip with Cockatours as I have done the equally excellent Gulf Savannah way from Cairns to Darwin.
What sets Cockatours apart is the personalised local knowledge of owner/ guide Rossy who is able to access areas that the big companies will never reach. Small group of like minded people travelling in a 4WD truck, pitching in to set up camp, prepare meals and generally help out. This is not a trip for those wanting creature comforts!
Rossy is a wildlife expert and we were fortunate to see lots of Birdlife, including Palmer cockatoos, snakes including that amazing night drive back from the tip and of course crocs. Ably assisted by Kat the food was delicious and plentiful. They both worked so hard and were always good humoured. I especially enjoyed the bush camps away from big city life where the night sky was brilliant.
I could not recommend this tour more highly and hope to do the Kimberley with Rossy and his team in 2025
