点评:This was my first time back to Philly since this museum opened. It was two stories but the only place open on the first floor was the gift shop as they were in the process of readying a new exhibition in the remaining areas.
The second floor was the meat of the museum which opened with the colonies and followed the progression of issues that resulted in the Declaration of Independence and the battles that followed until the end. Lots of good storyboards, insights into people, artifacts, recreations and more. I can see how one could spend a long time here.
The multimedia show about George Washington's original tent from the war was a must see when visiting the museum. The show covered the tents use during and after the war and the path that eventually brought it to the museum. The show ends with the unveiling of the tent behind glass. No photos allowed but quite impressive to see especially after 200 plus years.
Overall spent two hours here and could’ve spent more if it wasn’t closing. I also visited on a weekday afternoon which was a quiet time with very few people around. Perfect for leisurely seeing everything.
