Great walk up for views, but better on a less windy day
Mount John Summit Circuit Track的点评
点评：We decided we were not going to do the extended loop track around the lake, along the Ridge, to the observatory and back down the forest path as the wind gusting down from the glacier was quite fierce at times.
Parked the car near Tekapo Springs before 10 because it got very busy with walkers after 11 coming back down. the walk up is a steady uphill walk all the way but pleasant through the forest until you get to open ground when the wind picked up. Only taking us about 50 minutes to reach the South Summit viewpoint, we rested but couldn't really sit and admire the view for long as the wind would gust quite strongly on and off. Glad we didn't do the long Ridge walk.
Then the walk back down the forest was less of a heart starter. It was quite a warm morning but the wind was quite cool - water and light windproof jacket for the top.
