A must see when in the Durham area!
The Bob Abley Art Gallery的点评
点评：A real hidden gem! My sisters and I popped in, anticipating spending an hour looking around the gallery, three hours later, we had to leave as we had run out of time!
We visited to see the works of Norman Cornish, and were pleasantly suprised to find so many originals and prints on display alongside a couple of interesting video's and a reconstruction of his studio.
The Tisa Hess exhibition on the upper floor is well worth a visit. The Prussion born artist's work gives an insight to the life in the Durham Coalfields in the 1930's.
In addition to these two artists, there are many other great works on display by local artists.
A big thank you to Sue, the artist we met in the Makers Room and all the staff at the gallery who told us so much about the artists/works on display and made us feel very welcome.
I will definitely visit again next time I am in the area.
