A fantastic and refreshing wine experience

点评：We did the vineyard visit with wine tasting last night. It was incredible and by far the best tasting experience we have ever done. Ombretta, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and very talented at bringing in all our senses into the experience. After a 15 min transfer to the vineyard, the visit begins with a 30 min walk around the herb garden along the coastal path to the vineyard, being encouraged to smell and taste the flavours that influence the wine’s production. She gave us a history of the environment of the area including the volcanic earth and its influence on wine production. We then sat in the lovely restaurant area for our tasting which consisted of 7 wines and an assortment of dishes including Sorrento specialties. What made Ombretta’s expertise the most special to me is that she genuinely cared about our opinions on the wines and helped us identify the notes and flavours based on what we had smelt and tasted during the tour. Her approach was relaxed and welcoming. The small group of 6 (3x couples) was intimate and relaxing. We all got on well throughout the evening. I would recommend this visit for anyone who likes to drink wine, whether you know a little or a lot!
