Fantastic morning at Rudding Park Golf Course. Highly recommended.

点评：Best Christmas gift idea. Purchased a £35 gift (50 balls at the driving range/6 hole course/food voucher). Drove up from York with young adult son, beautiful cold and crisp morning. Wandered into the clubhouse and a pleasant young man directed us to our bay at the range. We mastered the Trackman which was good fun and a nice addition. The 'automatic tee,' which again was quite novel and fun, but it did stick a few times and we had to ask for help but this didn't detract from the fun of it all. The young men in the golf shop were all so pleasant and professional. Nobody rushed us off the bay (thankfully) as we were running a little behind with setting up the Trackman and the tee jamming. Straight after the 50 balls, we headed to the 6 hole course which was lovely and quiet. The surroundings are so peaceful and beautiful. I don't know much about golf but I thoroughly enjoyed pretending to caddy and walking the course. It has some good hazards - plenty of water and bunkers. Lost a few balls. But again we didn't feel rushed or pressurised. It was such a gorgeous morning. Back to the clubhouse to sort out our food voucher which seemed no trouble - two bacon sandwiches and coffee which arrived promptly. There was seating near the window and service was prompt. It had certainly busied up by this time (about noon) and there was a lovely ambiance of young and old and in between. I thoroughly recommend this experience and I am sure we hope to head back to Rudding Park Golf Course. Being a somewhat apprehensive beginner we didn't know what to expect, but the team at the clubhouse couldn't have been more welcoming, helpful and professional. Highly recommended.
