Spectacular scenery and views to Hokkaido
Tappizaki Cape的点评
点评：We came here as part of a drive around the Tsugaru peninsula as suggested by the Aomori tourism website. We came up along the west coast and the mountains, navigating hairpin turns and narrow roads. Fortunately, there were few cars coming from the opposite direction due to the remote location.
The scenery was often spectacular and worth the effort if you have the time. Cape Tappi is at the northernmost tip of the peninsula and we could see across the strait to Hokkaido. There is a small lighthouse at the cape, and a small restaurant also. It is incredibly windy up there and it felt at times that the gusts would blow me over. I’m sure the sunset would be amazing from here, but with a 1.5 hour drive back to Aomori down the mountains and the east coast of the peninsula, along roads that didn’t appear to have any street lights, we had to get going. The Seikan Tunnel Memorial Hall is nearby, but we didn’t have time to stop (and it would have been closed by the time we arrived, anyway). There is accommodation nearby too, so those keen to explore the area further could try staying the night.
