点评：We have been to the Grand Canyon many times and during all seasons. My feeling is that the summer months provide the most crowded conditions, with the requirement of riding around in a dedicated park bus to certain sections of the park. Lookout points can be quite busy during the summer months with many foreign and domestic visitors. Lines to get into the park can be quite long during the summer months.
We have also been there in December, when it was cold, days are short, and there is snow and ice on the ground and on the roadways. If visitors can brave the cold weather and watch the weather conditions to be sure there isn't a heavy snowfall, it's a great time to visit with fewer visitors by far compared to the summer months. The park is more enjoyable, in my opinion, in December than in the summertime because the air is clearer and the park seems to be more pristine without the crowds. Visitors can also drive their cars anywhere in the park in December, January, and February.
We went in February this time, because it seemed like a good time to go. This year there was no snow and ice, since the area has been suffering from a drought. As with December, there were fewer visitors, and lines to get into the park were short. There were only three cars ahead of us waiting to get in. Our experience was similar to the visit in December, although with higher temperatures. We actually had an ideal experience this time.
We typically spend the night in Flagstaff where hotels are cheaper and there are more restaurants, etc. than in Tusayan. Tusayan is a village with expensive costs for everything. Williams is a good choice if you want to stay south of the Grand Canyon because it isn't far from South Entrance of the park and there are plenty of hotels and restaurants.
