点评：Do not visit Hogenakkal Falls. It’s not clean at all—too crowded, too dirty, and you can only smell fish everywhere. I had heard a lot about these falls since coming to BLR, but you will only regret going. You will find good reviews as well as I did but It's not at all worth it.
Let me share my experience from the beginning: We started from BLR at 6 AM, had a very good drive with scenic views, and it took us around 3.5 hours to reach Hogenakkal. We also had breakfast at The Border Bells, which was good and reasonably priced(Rs. 900 for 5 person).
To enter with your private vehicle, they charge you at multiple points (Rs. 50 + Rs. 150) for entry and parking, even though there was no parking spot available. We found another place and had to pay Rs. 200 more to get a parking spot.
After that, we went towards the coracle ride, for which you have to pass through a very crowded, narrow street with only the smell of fish all around. Fish is being sold on both sides, cut right there(If you are a veg, it will be difficult to pass through the street). Once you reach the river, you can take a coracle for ₹1,500 for 4 people(~40 Minutes). If you are more than 4, you need to reserve multiple coracles, even for just one extra person.
The water is not clean. People are getting massages in open areas with oil everywhere. The other path goes to the falls, which is again the same story: fish, people getting massages in only their underwear, and zero cleanliness. Fish are being cleaned and people are bathing in the same water, which is stagnant and very dirty.
Overall not a good experience, we got frustrated and didn't go for a coracle ride as the entire area was unhygenic. Eventually had dinner in BLR and came back by 6 PM. Not sure if the story would be different on a weekday as we went on sunday. Good luck in case if you are going. It was so smelly, didn't even stop to take a picture otherwise wood have posted them as well.
