Attabad lake的点评
点评：I loved my visit to Attabad Lake. The colour of the water is so vibrant and turquoise.
The lake was formed following a landslide in 2010 that blocked the flow of the River Hunza. The landslide created a natural dam, the consequence of which was the sad submerging of the village of Attabad.
The lake sits at over 8,000 feet above sea level. Its amazing colour is largely due to the glacial minerals in the water.
The lake provides different leisure activities, including all types of boating, jet skis, picnic areas, a few stalls and restaurants/ cafes and the it is also safe to swim in. The lake and its surroundings also provide the most amazing photo opportunities.
The prices for the boats vary depending on the number of passengers and length of the trip.
It was very quiet when I visited and the boat vendors were eager to strike up a good deal with you.
There are hotels situated next to the lake. I cannot comment on them individually but personally I feel if you choose to stay at the lake, you are quite some distance from anywhere else. This may be of course exactly what some people are looking for. I had toyed with booking a hotel on the lake prior to my visit to Hunza, but I was glad I chose to stay in Karimabad.
For me stopping at the lake, soaking in my surroundings and then enjoying a speedboat ride across its turquoise, still waters was just perfect.
