点评：Maria Lanakila Catholic Church, dedicated in 1858, is still closed as of Oct. 2024 due to the devastating Lahaina fire in August 2023 that killed over 100 & destroyed 2200 structures. Must attend Mass at its mission church, Sacred Hearts Mission Church, located at Office Road in the Kapalua Resort, during the town's rebuilding. Daily Mass is held at 7am from Monday to Saturday. Saturday Vigil Mass: 5:30 pm and Sunday Mass Times: 7am; 8:45 AM, 10:30am, and Spanish Mass Time: 7pm.
Fine Catholic Mass there. Friendly church goers. Coukd use more electric fans for the congregation and the Indian Priest was a little difficult to understand at times but he is undoubtedly a holy and worthy spiritual leader.
That wildfire miraculously spared the Maria Lanakila Catholic Church. However, much of the town was reduced to ash and rubble, including most of its Sacred Hearts School.
Since the fire, public access to the town of Lahaina, including this church property, has been strictly restricted due to recovery and rebuilding efforts. Until public access to Maria Lanakila is restored, church services have been transferred to Sacred Hearts Mission Church.
