Praia do Vale dos Homens is nicer

点评：I've been living less than 10Km from this beach for 10 years, and eventually tried it today. So...to correct a few remarks here:
1) Rogil is in the Algarve, not the Alentejo, which doesn't start until you pass Odeceixe
2) The dirt road is 4Km long (I measured it)
3) The dirt road isn't "full of holes". It's a perfectly drivable gravel road. Most of my friends and neighbours live down road far worse than this
4) There are 425 steps to the beach (I counted them) not counting the final scramble at the bottom, down wet rock
The beach is VERY long, particularly to the left as you come onto the beach. But you can't easily swim here, unless you enjoy being smashed against jagged rocks.
So, a mixed review from me. It IS very quiet, but then the beaches on this beautiful west coast are never crowded. And there are better beaches - for example, Rogil's other beach (Praia do Vale dos Homens) - is much nicer. Less steps - well, a few less, anyway - and sea that you can actually swim in.
