Unable to accommodate food allergies fairly

点评：We thought we would support Lupton House and have lunch at the cafe. Having ordered a breakfast and explained that my husband has a food allergy and wouldn’t be able to have the egg and beans I was told I could put it on my plate instead. After explaining that this was not an option I did ask if a slice bacon could be substituted. (Didn’t think that was unreasonable) It was a definite’NO’. I decided to order it anyway and then speak to the manageress.
After speaking to the manageress explaining how unfair it was to pay for items that my husband could not eat I was told to choose something else. I was told that there was ‘no capacity’ to request a something different in the set breakfast and that she was ‘sorry if that was not good enough’ and that ‘it was a charity and they were only doing their best’ she then walked away.
I had only asked for a slice of bacon to substitute the egg and beans!
Best of all- the breakfast didn’t even arrive-the staff hadn’t even ordered it!
Come on Lupton House cafe-people have food allergies and most cafes-even small ones with few staff- can accommodate people’s needs.
