太空针塔的点评
点评：I couldn’t let my first visit to Seattle go by without taking a trip up the space needle. It was a pleasant, warm day in May, clear skies and views almost, but not quite, to Mount Rainier.
The ticketing process was simply enough, there was a kiosk as well as several self service machines which is what we chose but I would say that if you are a resident of Seattle, the local resident discount was not readily available on the self service tickets. Price was comparable to going up the CN tower in Toronto or the shard in London so was happy there. I regret missing the opening of the glass bottom lift/elevator because of the timing of my visit, although I look forward to doing that next time I’m in town.
The views are stunning and the air feels particularly crisp and clean up top. There are plenty of beverage and food options if you want to make an event of a visit, with the former revolving restaurant with glass bottomed floors also visitable. On the way out, there is a chance to visit the gift shop which is a pretty well stocked boutique with lots of souvenir options and some really funky looking models of the space needle itself.
Obviously this is not an attraction for anybody who suffers from vertigo but I never felt imperilled once going up there so maybe a good way of conquering your fears. A visit should take between 45 minutes to an hour and a half depending on what it is you want to do but if the weather is nice, grab yourself a drink and just watch the world go by.
