点评:Dr Frank's winery pioneered the growing of European grapes overlooking Lake Keaku in the early 1960s, so a visit here is a journey to the birthplace of the Finger Lakes winery industry. We had a very relaxed, no rush 90 minute tasting with 5 flights of wine varieties. Riesling is a must, of course, but the real treat was an additional tasting of a Winter Ferment Gewurztraminer -- a semi-sweet white that hit our wheelhouse. I must commend our tasting guide Sue -- she personifies what customer friendliness is. She explained each wine sampled, how they differed and she radiated enthusiasm without being overbearing. When she found out we favored semi-sweet Reislings, she checked for open bottles for an additional pour. Reservations are recommended but the tastings are not "get 'em in, get 'em out' paced, far from it. Highly recommended and of course the view from the covered deck, of the vines sloping down toward Lake Keaku, is amazing.
