葛底斯堡国家军事公园的点评
点评：We started at the museum, doing the film and "cyclorama", then moving on to the exhibits. The film is predictable and blah; the cyclorama is unexciting; but the museum is well structured, informative and fascinating. We left 2 1/2 hours for the museum (not including film and cyclorama), and it was not nearly enough.
We took the two-hour battlefield bus tour. I would recommend this. The next day we came back and did a more complete tour via car, using the Park Service audio app (basically a recording of a tour one guide gave, plus driving instructions).
Both tours take you forward in time through the battle, from Heth's encounter with Buford to Pickett's charge. The bus tour gave us the highlights, and the car tour then filled in the gaps. We added Devil's Den at the end (not part of the Park Service tour, but very worthwhile), and ended up spending 4 hours that day.
The battlefield is too large to tour without a car. (Maybe unless you are a strong cyclist.)
The rangers in the museum were helpful. The cafe gave us a good meal. We will return and visit again.
