摇滚乐名人堂博物馆的点评
点评：$50 to see instruments and costumes is not worth it. Very underwhelming and the museum itself is poorly laid out. Random stairs, escalators, no signage to tell you which way to go all means you end up doubling back on yourself. There is construction going on but nothing that appears that it will do anything about the bad traffic flow and inconsistent floor plans. There is a very old and dated timeline of the history of rock and roll that was hardly informative and barely offered anything educational or enlightening.
The largest permanent collections for the most influential early musicians (Elvis, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones) was barely more than a couple of paragraphs saying who they were (which if you didn’t know was better than nothing but I assume most visitors will know the bare minimum already) and then maybe 10-15 artifacts per grouping. Very disappointing.
There were some fun interactive bits like the “make your own band sticker” area or the 3 (though one was broken down during my visit) free pinball machines of rock artists you can play or the free instrument jam area, but I went later on a weeknight and I assume these small areas get very busy and hard to access during crowded days.
Fun to stroll through but not at all worth $50. Maybe $25.
