点评：Lunt Meadows is a gem that so few people know about or visit. The Lancashire plain with its wide sweeping landscapes and big skies has a unique quality of its own. Not exactly majestic but captivating in the details. The Reserve has the best blackberry picking north of Liverpool, long-horned cattle graze the open spaces, flocks of geese fly low overhead and in the summer swifts play out their dance in the blue above. Butterflies are in abundance and for the vegetation is rich, varied and beautiful. I stumbled over a wild cranberry bush next to ‘rabbit city’ on the edge of the woods that border the Meadows. Large tracts of water filled from the river Alt and reed beds draw waders and warblers. A cafe is opening soon although the newly constructed volunteers hut has never been open when I have visited. Apple trees line the path as you make your way in. A lovely place for walks, contemplation and getting away from it all.
