Neglected, needs some investment

点评：Visit as a family of two young children:
On paper, this is a victorian park, with some gardens, an aviary, a playground and a skateboard park. What’s not to like?
In reality, the landscaped garden part at the entry showcases the wider neglect of the park.
To get in, you have to walk across a neglected seating area, that marks a cul de sac, filled with uber drivers smoking and an ice cream van jammed at the park gates with it’s engine on idling.
The aviary, containing budgies and cockateeels. my 2 & 4 year old were both complaining that it smelt - and it did, not just because it was birds and they smell, but because it doesn’t look cleaned that often.
The paths, particularly the titled parts are badly maintianed and my child fell over.
The playground area had some nice equipment, but it was rammed, and tight for space, with parents leaving young children unsupervised.
They could have done better with the space.
Particularly as the half of the park with the skateboard area, you can’t access from the Victorian side of the park which is weird.
They have a cafe in the park, but leaseholders should be told to paint and tidy up as it looks like a mess. There is an abandoned bowls green next to the cafe just left to ruin like the tables.
The only saving grace is the skateboard park next door, some nice polite kids using it.
