Proper Somerset Cider!

点评：An enjoyable day out. We were bought this as a birthday present. Not sure what to expect but was different to how we anticipated.
We stopped at The Old Station Inn in Hallatrow and got the bus (522) in, the primary purpose so that we could enjoy sampling the cider of course. Because of the timetables, the bus got us in an hour before the tour was due to begin. However, despite being early, Tim allowed us to go for a stroll around the farm and up the hill for some stunning views.
We were introduced to Jacqui and Toby. This is a close knit family oriented business, and everybody was hospitable. Jacqui gave us an insight into the history of the farm, whilst Tim took us on a tour, explaining the cider making process and the challenges involved in managing a thirty acre farm. We then returned to The Goat (the barn) where we sampled the ciders, very generous helpings too. We were also introduced to the rum, the gin and the port.
The soup was very tasty and the sausages were absolutely delicious too, rich in flavour and certainly helped soak up the cider!
We enjoyed Tim’s anecdotes, storytelling, and dry-wit sense of humour.
Tim also gave us a lift back to Hallatrow after the tour which was greatly appreciated and saved us a journey on foot to the bus stop with our crates of cider.
Would recommend to anybody who has a passion for traditional cider. Many thanks for a great day out.
