Monteviot Gardens的点评
点评：What a joke. Since Mickey Ancram died his successor seems to have been really trying to promote Monteviot as a tourist attraction. New signage and social media posts etc. We’ve been before and loved it, so went again this weekend to see what it was all about, and to try the Courtyard Cafe. We arrived and thought we’d gone to the wrong house. The ‘cafe’ is a wooden tool shed at the back door of the house (which is always closed, seemingly). ‘Barista’ the old lady was not. Coffee was instant from a flask. I could have laughed out loud. She was very unfriendly, and despite flogging the place like a d**d horse they clearly don’t want visitors. Feeling really deceived we turned and left. Save yourself the money and walk along the river from Harestanes instead. They have a nice cafe, and you can see most of the garden from the path. I think the marketing is very false - there was no barista there at all.
