点评:I have been coming to Baobab for many years and have always used the Activate Gym during my stay. Unfortunately, this year I did not experience the warm and welcoming atmosphere that I have come to expect.
While I was waiting for the gym to open, another hotel guest arrived. When the staff member opened the door, he immediately asked whether the guest was staying at the hotel and informed him that he needed to bring a towel. He then sent the guest back to reception to collect one. While I understand that this is the gym's policy, the way it was communicated came across as unnecessarily abrupt.
When the guest returned with a towel, he tried to explain that he felt the interaction could have been handled more politely. Unfortunately, the conversation quickly escalated. The staff member repeatedly spoke with his hands raised very close to the guest's face. Despite being asked several times not to do so, he continued. At one point, the guest asked me to help defuse the situation.
I fully appreciate that staff have a responsibility to enforce the gym's rules. However, I believe this situation could easily have been avoided with a friendlier and more welcoming approach.
As a long-standing guest, I found it disappointing to witness this interaction, as it detracted from the positive experience I have always associated with my visits.
