点评:We have heard much and see pics of the (famous) slope hence it was on our itinerary.
It is in the Motomachi area and we came via the Tram. Did not zoom here direct but explore the area, and realized that there are few parallel slopes (Motoi-zaka, Daisan..) too. It is one of Hakodate’s most popular view spots for filming commercials and the road slopes all the way down to the harbour a viewpoint where you can see the Mashu Maru ferry. With such an incredible perspective of the road both winter and summer’s night view is best, with the gas lamps providing a warm glow.
Compared to the other slopes we noted that the road surfacing is different and the sides are better maintained. The trees along the road change appearance with the seasons and the December Xmas illuminations was touted as the most beautiful. It was summertime only and the evening setting wasn’t that specular.
Still it was a good experience. From where one can convenient goes to the Bay area, move sideways within Motomachi or even walked another 15 mins to the foot of Mt Hakodate.
