点评:Visited in summer of 2024. I know the story of the battle because my 3rd great grandfather fought with the British there, and I read the great book Guns Across the River. Onsite signage will help one understand the gist of the story. I found the summer student (SS) most unhelpful...the SS seemed to prefer reading a book. SS ofered no information about the site, which one ussually expects from staff at heritage sites...story boards only tell so much. SS shrugged when I asked what the Fiends of the Windmill group did. SS knew it paid their wage. I had to ask to see the video which I was not advised about on entry. Inside was dusy and could not sit to watch the video because bench and chairs dirty. I had to brush away cobwebs to see a book I was interested in. The site itself is worth the stop but bring your own knowledge of the event or research it later (Wikipedia is helpful).
