点评：An extremely disappointing experience with Le Boat
Unfortunately, our recent experience with Le Boat was extremely disappointing and fell well short of what we expected.
The boat we were allocated had clearly seen better days. Throughout the trip, the toilets were repeatedly blocked, essential items such as mooring pegs were missing, and the rental bicycles provided were damaged and therefore unusable. These issues were pointed out to Le Boat technicians during the journey, but unfortunately no satisfactory resolution was provided.
Another major disappointment was the lack of transparency around the engine-hour charges.
When checking in, we were charged for engine usage hours in advance, and we had assumed this amount was based on the anticipated journey and would cover the boat until it was returned. According to Le Boat’s own brochure, our trip was expected to take approximately 34 hours. It therefore came as a considerable shock to discover that we had only been allocated 18 engine hours at the commencement of our trip, leaving us with an additional bill of more than €600.
We believe these types of additional and potentially significant costs should be made completely clear to customers before they commence their holiday. A clear explanation of how engine hours are calculated, how many hours are included and what additional charges may apply would have enabled us to make a properly informed decision before booking.
If you are considering booking with Le Boat, I would strongly recommend obtaining a full breakdown of all potential costs in writing before you pay, particularly the engine-hour charges, and making sure you understand exactly what is and isn’t included.
Sadly, following our experience, we cannot recommend Le Boat and would suggest researching the other companies operating on the French canals before making a booking.
