点评:The lake was a popular spot for Victorian tourists - who built the hotel at the western end - Tynycornel. The main 'pull' for visitors now is a car park - which is the most popular spot to hike up Cader Idris. However, that is not compulsory! you can enjoy a gentle stroll along the lake shore - along the whole southern shoreline is a very minor road which only provides access to farms. Or if you are looking for something a little more energetic - this can be turned into a loop. An ideal winter walk with the more limited daylight. There are toilets and a charge for car parking at the Cader Idris car park... or you could become a customer at Tynycornel. It is also a good spot for bird watching - with little grebe, herons, tufted duck and cormorants year round. In the winter there are large flocks of ducks including wigeon and teal.
