One of the BEST Lighthouses in the World!!

点评：Super sweet lighthouse!!!! Been to Point Reyes Lighthouse twice over the years. Last time was March 2021 when Covid was still rampant in the world. Since it was Covid time the visitors center was not operating, and we were unable to actually make it all the way to the lighthouse. They closed the stairs which leads down to the lighthouse. Not only Covid will close these 313 steps. If winds are exceeding 40mph, then they will close the steps for visitors safety. It was very windy that day we were there so it probably would have been closed to us anyways.
Despite the fact that we did not make it all the way down to the lighthouse, we had a great time! The drive along the windy Sir Francis Drake Boulevard to get to the parking lot is very scenic. The parking lot itself is small so get there early folks. The walk from the parking lot to the Lighthouse Visitors Center is wonderful. The scenery everywhere you look is beautiful. The ocean views are especially amazing!! If you are lucky, you may see a whale or two. Take your time and enjoy the half mile walk.
The Point Reyes Lighthouse and surrounding area is truly breathtaking!! Absolutely one of our favorite lighthouses in the world!! Even though we did not get to make it all the way down there during the most recent visit, we would still come back again and again and again!!
