Cheviot Tunnel的点评
点评：We were driving to Yarck (near this tunnel) on Sunday and we decided to check out the Cheviot Tunnel after seeing it here on Trip Advisor.
Our first point is to follow the signs to get there. We tried to use our GPS to get there but it told us that we had arrived when we hadn’t and turned out that we were 2-3 kms away. Lucky we decided to follow the signs.
When we arrived at the car park for the tunnel, I saw an echidna up a little track so I raced up to have a look and while he was in no mood to be my friend, I was able to get a few good photos.
The tunnel itself is awesome if this is your thing. It takes about 5 minutes to wander through it and within steps of getting inside there’s a definite temperature change. It was quite a warm day, but the tunnel was chilly. It’s a great wander through and when you look up at the ceilings you can see a lot of cobwebs………I loved it but appreciate that some people might be spooked by it.
If you’re in the area, it’s worth having a look. Have a read of the information board giving a history of the tunnel and the rail trail there.
