点评:Took a stroll around here this afternoon, was really peaceful and my 4 year old loved it, really set his imagination going and he loved pretending we were being chased by bears and tigers, there are some free-roaming ponies in one area and a few are very friendly and will come say hello.
there are 2 separate entrances from the carpark, one at the far end that is flat and another to the right of the parking machines, which begins a steep climb immediately so is pretty accessible for multiple fitness levels. Hardye Cottage is beautiful this time of year, we didnt go in but the entrance fee for adults is £12.50 standard price, £10ish for gift aid qualified and free for National Trust members.
there is the visitors centre, which has a cafe within at very reasonable prices we ordered a banana cake, milkshake and a packet of crisps that came to £7. There are toilets and information desks available and also a dog washing station for those with muddy pups and its a propper station not just a hose. there are plenty of picnic benches dotted about throughout the woods as well,we spent 3 hours in total but could have stayed longer.
All in all well worth a trip, for a free day out
