点评：We picked up our 4x4 non-equipped Toyota Hilux in Kasane and we drove through to Windhoek. It was a good price - competitive, it the lowest, nor highest. The vehicle was in good condition and we were given a tour on how to use fully. The car didn’t have a fridge - loads of room for baggage. We asked for the under-car spar wheel to go into the back for easy access if we needed and this was fine. We didn’t take the £1000 extra insurance cover. We lowered the wheel pressure to 20bar to tie account of gravel and tarmac roads, and also for using on sand tracks in Chobe and Etosha - this was a good call. We upped pressure on the last sector for travel on tarmac into Windhoek. We were fine driving at up to 120kph on roads. There’s two fuel tanks and it takes a while to fill (whilst rocking the car to get the air out of the lines!). The two tanks allowed us to drive about 10-11 hours straight.
Upon returning to Windhoek airport, we couldn’t rely on google maps - the depot is right next to Hertz and Budget so you can’t go far wrong. Transport is included back to hotel (or from Kasane border) but must be under 25km - Windhoek not strictly included but Britz allowed.
All very good service and we’d use again. It’s a risk not to take the extra insurance but your call…..
