Iconic Clock Tower, looking good, clocks working all showing the correct time

点评：Early evening Thursday 13th June and we sailed into the Port of Nimporio, Halki, from Skala Kamiros on Rhodes.
It is such a welcoming sight to see familiar landmarks, including this iconic Clock Tower as we approached the Port.
The Clock Tower was gift to the Islanders from Halkians who had emigrated and live abroad.
Over many years the clocks and their tower had fallen into disrepair. When we were last in Halki, July 2023, it had all been restored, refurbished and looking good.
A few days into our holiday we did walk around the base of the tower. It was so good to see that the four clocks were still in working order and all showing the correct time. There were a few visible weeds growing out of the masonry, nothing major and easily sorted.
It was also good to see that the small stone house with it's domed roof, at the base of the Tower, was still being maintained and being used as a gallery.
From the balcony of our villa we were able to see the Tower a welcome sight on every occasion.
