Sensational village to village walk
Capileira Mountain Trail的点评
点评：We started out from Capiliera walking to Bubion and then Pampinera. Our return trip was via the mountain track on the other side of the valley. It’s about a 11-12 km walk depending on how high into the mountain trail you go. It’s correctly rated a moderate walk with lots of steep bits and loose gravel area. We found there was plenty of shade in parts but it is also sun exposed in others. The track is not that well signposted so you will need to use a hiking app. Even with a map there are lots of tracks crossing at key points and it might not be evident which way to go if you’re really on a paper map.
It’s a sensational walk that takes you through the three gorgeous villages. The track winds through narrow streets dotted with lovely courtyards, past little restaurants and in Pampiera the BEST chocolate and ice cream shop.
Out of the towns the path meanders through forests of trees….wild cherry, figs, peaches, chestnuts, hazelnuts and the paths are full of wildflowers. Absolutely gorgeous. You’ll cross the river twice and see some lovely water falls.
We saw few other walkers but met a local rending his garden who stopped to chat about the route and the farming in the area.
A couple of nasties…..stinging nettles and for those who are snake phobic, we saw a couple of little snakes….one slithered past my boots….
In all, highly recommend it but be prepared with the hiking app.
