点评：Four of us - two couples, one mid-70s, the other mid-60s on a Penichette 1020FB for 1 week. We definitely enjoyed the experience. Our friends, not so much. Check out on Saturday can be a bit slow. We were in a line of fellow boat-cruisers. Some left before 6pm. Others, like us, stayed the night in Port and left the next morning. A technician takes you on a thorough tour of the boat and then on a very short cruise on the Canal to show the effect of controls. It is barely enough because the next day, we zig-zagged our way along, in and out of locks, and under and through very low and very narrow bridges. We didn't do any damage, but if we had, I wouldn't have been surprised. Note that you can buy a package on departure day to reduce the damage excess to €500.00. BUY IT! We weren't alone in having straight-line issues and saw plenty of other new drivers worse than us. In the end, my co-driver stressed so much about damaging the boat that he handed all navigation duties over to me. The interior of the boat is as you see on the tin, but note that you need to borrow a 12-volt charger from the office, or your devices won't last the distance. With this, you can charge while the engine is running. There was a 220v outlet on the boat, but the boat had to be plugged in to shore power first. The amount of water you carry may, or may not last very long and you won't know how much you have because there is no gauge. Showers are best taken at the occasional ports that provide facilities. The "showers" on the boat are rudimentary. The hand-held shower head is in the toilet which is a wet room, and the best you should expect is a quick sluice down - not a shower. Beds are narrow and adequate. Don't expect much comfort. Plenty of fridge space, and it kept our food and drinks chilled. We had a breakdown on day 4. A technician showed up really quickly and did the necessary repair. However, he was also the only staff member on duty, and he was dealing with a complex issue for other customers some distance away, so he spent as much time on the phone as he spent on our repair. I have to commend his skill and professionalism dealing with the other problem, though. Impressive. Once we got the boat going in a straight line and worked out navigating locks, the cruise, for us at least, was very enjoyable. Lots of stops, exploring and relaxing evenings moored up in the middle of nowhere in mild early autumn weather lunches and some dinners in fabulous bars and restaurants au bord de l'eau. Great. If, on the other hand, you like your creature comforts, electricity, unlimited hot water, showers always available, and properly comfortable beds, you might want to think again.
