点评：Exhibits in this historic Jones Brothers Manufacturing plant tell the story of granite from rock to art, especially since the Stone Arts School is co-located and regularly has stone carvers crafting that art and who are willing to speak with visitors as time allows. With the many granite monuments found throughout Barre and the artistic memorials found in Hope Cemetery, as well as found across the nation, the museum puts those amazing works into context.
And while many may be familiar with the plight of coal miners and "black lung" disease, some may be surprised that those involved in the granite industry often suffered the same fate of compromised lungs and premature death caused by granite dust. This museum is a fitting memorial to those who have labored to provide those monuments and memorials, especially since Rock of Ages quarry has closed to the public.
