A standout experience was meeting Charlie, one of the museum guides. He’s a wealth of knowledge and goes above and beyond to ensure every question is answered with insight and enthusiasm. His passion for the history of Montauk is truly infectious.
On the downside, the customer service at the ticket counter could use improvement. Sally and the woman handling admissions seemed disengaged and less than welcoming, which was disappointing given the overall richness of the site.
Still, the visit is highly recommended—especially if you have the chance to connect with Charlie. His storytelling brings the lighthouse’s legacy to life.
