Khandi Waterfalls的点评
点评：KHANDI
Khandi is located to the north of Pune, which is around 80 kms from Pune and 35 kms from Kanhe phata. This place is beautiful and greenery all around, the scenery of the mountains is so delightful with its dense forest. This place is a heaven during the rainy season, with numerous waterfalls that are a sight to behold for tourists.
How to reach
IF you are planning for khandi there are 2 different routes from pune station
(1) Pune old mumbai highway (via Kanhe Phata)
To get to Somatane phata, head towards Ghoradeshwar. From Somatane phata, continue straight for 13 kilometres until you reach Kanhe phata. After reaching Kanhe Phata, turn right and continue straight ahead. Initially, you will come across the railway track, and after traveling a few kilometres further, you will reach the Indrayani river bridge. Starting at the Indrayani River bridge, you need to travel straight for 10 kilometers to arrive at Jagtap Waterfalls, the first waterfall on the Khandi route. It is 26 kilometers from Jagtap Waterfalls to Khandi View Point. Along the way, there are numerous waterfalls, Thokarwadi Dam, and the stunning beauty of the surrounding scenery.
(2) Pune old mumbai highway (via Jambhulgaon phata)
One has to reach Somatane phata which is near ghoradeshwar.From somatane phata travel straight 9.4 kms to Jambhulgaon phata and turn right towards Jambhul road. This is the shortest route

Khandi is not a single waterfall; there are more than 40 waterfalls. One can do camping and can enjoy natural showers under waterfalls, and few people have their own cooking arrangements to enjoy cooking and eating with nature. Homemade food by local people is also available there.
Jagtap Waterfall
Jagtap waterfalls are the first waterfall in the khandi route. This is open for only families. Timing is from 9 am to 7 pm and entry ticket is 300 rs from monday to Friday for above 8 yrs. Below 8yrs entry is free. On weekends and special holidays the ticket price is 350rs. It is a combination of Natural Waterfalls & Waterpark. Good & Safe place to enjoy monsoon waterfalls. Ample free parking. Change Rooms & Toilets for Ladies and Gents available. Canteen is available inside where You can buy snacks like pakoda & vada pav. Meal & Entry Package is also available which includes Breakfast, Lunch, High tea. Today we skipped this waterfall and started with mau waterfall which is next to jagtap waterfall
Note: Only Jagtap waterfall has an entry ticket, but there are many waterfalls which are free of charge.
Mau Waterfall
At a distance of 2 mins from Jagtap waterfalls there is one more waterfall Mau waterfall, there is a road on the left side. After walking for a few minutes, the path leads to a beautiful waterfall with surrounding beauty. Little care to be taken to go near this waterfall. One can spend quality time here by enjoying the waterfalls by sitting on rock. Excellent place for photography and videography.
From Jagtap waterfalls to Khandi route the whole stretch is full of lush green landscapes. Rice fields can be observed. It was very blissful and serene that we were stopping every few kms to take pictures. Roads are not good. Potholes can be seen on more than 50% of routes.
Wadeshwar Waterfall & Thokarwadi Dam
At a distance of 3kms from Mau waterfall there are 3 waterfalls on the left side known as Wadeshwar waterfall and on the right side there is Thokarwadi Dam. It is built on Indrayani river which is a tributary of the Bhima river and lies in the region of Sahyadri mountain range which has a mix of rolling hills and flat plains which experiences wet and dry weather. Thokarwadi dam, with crystal clear water and an adjacent place to sit, makes it a perfect spot for a picnic. With perfect water flow and nearby steps, the Khandi waterfall can be enjoyed with friends and family.
Dahuli Waterfalls
Little further away from Vadeshwar there is a dahuli waterfall and its nearby landscape is awesome for photography and videography. Lalwadi waterfall just 2kms the distance from here
Lalwadi waterfalls
Lalwadi waterfalls is at a distance of around 16 km from Jagtap waterfalls. you can see a water reservoir made by a tiny dam. This is the best place where you should stop and park your vehicle. From here you can see 3 huge waterfalls in the surrounding mountains at the same time. And depending on the monsoon and water levels, you can see the water cascading from this tiny dam. Lalwadi waterfall entrance is through private property. Earlier it was open, now it is closed.
There’s a small road from nearby this tiny dam or reservoir. This road takes you all the way up to the base of two waterfalls. Here you have to climb uphill. After a short hike, the road evens out and gets a bit flat. At this place, you can see 3 huge waterfalls and numerous small ones.
Bendewadi Waterfalls
From Lalwadi waterfalls it is 2–3 mins by drive. We see the board showing left to the waterfall There is a parking fee for vehicles 20 rs for two wheelers and 50 rs for 4-wheeler. There is a provision of homemade breakfast, lunch and dinner. Vegetarian Thali is 200rs and Nonveg thali is 250 Rs. Approximately it takes 15-20 minutes by walking from the parking area to Bendewadi waterfalls.20 rs entry fee to be paid as this waterfall route falls in the private property area. This is the biggest waterfall in Khandi where tourists enjoy a lot. Care should be taken as the waterfalls fall from a height and the stones in the bottom are slippery. A temporary provision is available for changing clothes. The water stream is catchy to watch
KHANDI POINT
Just 11 km ahead of Bendewadi waterfalls, is the most beautiful Khandi Point. But I must say it is all about the journey, and not about the destination. The road twists around the Thokarwadi dam backwaters. And after some point, the earlier mentioned waterfalls can be seen on the other side of the dam waters. There are a few more tiny dams on the way and numerous more mountains on your left.
After you pass through the Khandi village you have to drive a bit to reach the Khandi waterfall. At Khandi waterfalls, there is a dead-end viewpoint. The views into the surrounding valleys, mountains and waterfalls from here are ultimate.

At a distance of 2 mins from Jagtap waterfalls there is one more waterfall Mau waterfall, there is a road on the left side.
