点评:What a wonderful place. This actually is a working farm and the tour we had was at 9 am. I emailed them about wanting to take a tour and they emailed back asking for a confirmation and we were all set. They even sent directions for Waze or Google. The entrance has a sign and a very small dirt road.
Now for the tour, Linda explained the roasting (which she did in front of us) and the importance of timing, heat etc. to make the best roasts. How they recycle all parts of the beans. Also about the quality of the beans they use and how they use nature to control harmful things to the coffee plants. So much to see and understand, why coffee and bananas (not trees) are always planted together, special trees for shading the plants, even vanilla orchids (which needs hand pollination because they are from Mexico and the insects that normally do it, don’t live in Costa Rica.).
A walk through the orchard, balanced to encourage wild life, so much to learn about the life of the coffee bean.
Wonderful, wonderful experience, ending with a small cup of the light roast coffee at the end. If you want to go to a coffee plantation, I recommend this place.
