点评:I with many pub friends was a regular visitor to this micropub, which under the stewardship of Val, Julie, Nick and Jennie, was a warm inviting friendly place serving great beer and wine. This being the case I was spending a decent chunk of money on a regular (several times a week) basis.
As with everything in life, things change.
Unfortunately, the pub was sold to a local beer brewing company, who promised they would make minimal changes. This however is not the case in just a few weeks they have managed to rip the heart and soul out of the place, the beers they now serve are rubbish, they have reduced the opening hours and have manged to piss off lots of regulars.
The staff with the exception of one (Zoe) are completely clueless, know nothing of beer, cannot pull a pint, are the wrong demographic for a micropub. This is perhaps not the staffs fault but some basic training in customer service would benefit everyone.
The solution is simple, bring back good engaging staff (they won't because it costs too much and won't or cannot work out with good bar people, takings go up), so whilst it might cost more in wages profits and turnover would me much higher (basic economics).
Given everyone who criticised them up to this point has been barred/banned or threatened with violence I expect I will be persona non grata after this.
Such a shame, a great pub ruined, turnover down, rather than apply some common sense
