点评：Gem Pier is one of those places that perfectly captures the character of Williamstown. During my visit, I enjoyed strolling along the pier surrounded by rows of yachts gently bobbing in the water, with beautiful views across Port Phillip Bay and the Melbourne skyline in the distance.
The area has a relaxed maritime atmosphere and plenty to see. The historic HMAS Castlemaine, permanently moored alongside the pier, adds an interesting connection to Australia's naval history and makes the waterfront feel even more special. Watching ferries arrive and depart, along with the many sailing boats in the marina, gives the area a lively yet peaceful feel.
What I particularly liked was how easy it is to combine a visit to the pier with the surrounding attractions. Nelson Place is just steps away, offering cafés, restaurants, gelato shops and historic buildings that make the area ideal for a leisurely afternoon. The pier itself is also a great spot for photography, especially on a clear day when the city skyline creates a striking backdrop.
Whether you're interested in maritime heritage, photography, a waterfront walk, or simply relaxing by the bay, Gem Pier is well worth visiting.
