点评:Komang and driver picked us up at our hotel and took us to her village for a walking tour and cooking class. We started off with a walk through a local market to see where the ingredients were sourced. Komang pointed out many of the different food types and bought some Balinese sweets along the way. From there we did a little walk through the rice fields near her home. She explained how it is grown, planted, and harvested, which we got to witness as one family was actively separating the cut rice stalks from the grain. At her home, we prepared and cooked seven different dishes which were all delicious! Very hands-on as we did food prep and cooking by cutting, grinding, stirring, etc. When we sat down to eat, we talked about Balinese culture--school, marriage, family temples, death, etc. Afterwards, you get all the recipes! Lots of fun, yummy food, and you learn something to boot! Highly recommended!
